Got a place....

.... and it's all dolled up. After many weeks of searching for a suitable place to live, we finally found an apartment in Metro West. It's a nice area with TREES (many parts of Orlando are in serious need of TREES), lots of other apartment complexes, shopping centers, and I just feel like we're close to a lot of good stuff. Although the cheap theater is on the other side of town. It's worth the trek. Love a cheap movie.

Chase is enjoying his job, and I'm enjoying his paycheck. ;-) I'm still looking for work, but at least I've got a volunteer gig now. So twice a week I get to go and play with kids. It's pretty nice. I've just started, but I like it. And I'm studying for the GRE. I wish I could have taken the math portion when I was in middle school and actually knew this math crap. Now it's like plunging into the deep recesses of a murky pool looking for buried treasure. You know that the information is there somewhere, you just can't find it for all the years and additional knowledge layered on top. I borrowed some books from the library to help me study for it and they're pretty good. Another few days of studying and I might be ready for it. I pretty much hate the GRE, I think it's bloody worthless. And a rip-off. But whatever. I have to do it, and I will. In the meantime, I'm getting my other papers together for the graduate application to UCF for speech pathology. The last time I was in grad school, it was murderously difficult. I'm hoping this time will be better. At least it's in my country of birth. I'll have that going for me this time.

Orrrrrlando

Chase has procured himself a lovely job in downtown Orlando, just across from Lake Eola. It's a fun little area with a lot going on. I got to spend some quality time in the park around the lake while Chase went to a 4 hour interview. I figured that if they talked to him for 4 hours, they were interested in him. And it turned out they were.

When Chase got an offer from a marketing and PR firm in Tallahassee he told the Orlando firm that if they were interested in him, now would be the time to act. And they did. And I'm glad. Because it seems like he gets to use all the stuff he learned about in school, plus, he gets free cokes, water and juices from the fridge any time! That sounds like a place I want to work. I do enjoy a free beverage.

While Chase works, I have been looking for a place that we can call home. And I finally found one. It's an apartment, and that means that Rosie can't join us yet. I'm bummed, but I also think it's for the best. I'm slowly waking up to the fact that a lot of people are uncomfortable around her breed. Well, I despise little toy dogs and yappy dogs, but people still seem to parade those all around me. I think when we go house hunting, we'll be looking for one with a big yard that discourages her from digging out. The little poop head is like the furry reincarnation of Harry Houdini.
