....The last time I posted on this blog, Chase and I moved to an apartment in MetroWest. Things were nice, things were cozy, but then I got accepted to grad school on the extreme other side of town. And when our lease came up, we decided to move closer to school.
So here we are, on the other side of town. We like our new digs. We have a view out the back of trees and a multitude of birds. It's very nice.... except the traffic noise. The 408 is right there and apparently they feel no need to erect a sound barrier wall. Of course, it is summer time now and the porch door is closed nearly all the time. But when the weather lightens up, I hope to enjoy the cooler days with the door open.
My commute to school is much shorter now and so is Chase's commute to work. We like that a lot. My classes are going well. I am finishing up my second semester of undergraduate prerequisites. In the fall, I should begin the graduate course load. I am so excited because that will mean I am that much closer to graduating and getting a job. I'm really looking forward to earning a paycheck. I probably say that at least once a week. I do enjoy Chase being my sugar daddy, but I also miss being able to buy something whenever I want. Being on a budget is so limiting. Although, we have gotten creative and that is fun too.
Unfortunately, I think we've created a name for ourselves as extreme re-users. I just happen to think that a ziplock bag can be used more than once. It's so wasteful to use it once and just throw it away! So we tend to use plastic storage containers more. We also make the effort to recycle in an environment that doesn't endorse it. We have to drive to a recycling receptacle and toss our stuff inside. I'd compost if I could. I think every home that has a yard should have a compost bin. But anyway, as I like to tell Chase, he better be glad he married a clean hippy and not one of those hippies allergic to showers.
